by appropriate methods throughout the year

including but not limited to:

• ‘Topworking’ established trees, by grafting branches with new and/or multiple varieties

• Custom propagation of select varieties by grafting on appropriate rootstock

• Winter pruning for stimulating growth and renewing old wood on established trees

• Summer pruning for controlling growth and tree size

• Establishment and maintenance of ‘espalier’ trained trees to fit along walls and fence lines: including horizontal cordon and ‘palmette’ or fan styles

• Thinning of fruit to increase size and color, and to reduce alternate bearing tendency
